Humans stand behind every word.
Andreas Anding is the founder and editor of Subversion Press.
He runs Remote Native GmbH, a Munich studio building tools for distributed teams. He has been working with AI tools professionally since 2022 and started Subversion Press in May 2026 to test a single question:
The answer is this catalog: one method, applied to every title, with accountable humans behind it. If they're good, that's because of the editing. If they're bad, that's also because of the editing.
He writes weekly about the experiment, the books, and the things he gets wrong on the Subversion Press Substack. The audience is editors, founders, and people who care about what happens to publishing when the marginal cost of prose collapses.
Why a publishing house
We considered the alternative — release the books unbranded, one at a time, and let each one find its own readers. We decided against it. Books from the same editorial team have a different weight than books from nowhere. The imprint is the contract: humans with names and addresses looked at this and said yes.
The contract is the point. The books are the test.
